Police out in force to catch speeders in Flatts area

Police were out in force around Flatts Village to catch speeders and traffic rule violators during the Thursday morning commute.
A number of motorists were stopped and asked to pull over so that their vehicles and motoring documents could be checked by officers.
It was part of the Police Service’s ongoing initiative to crackdown on bad driving and those who are driving while uninsured or unlicensed.
Members of the Police Unit Community Action Team were keeping their eyes on passing traffic outside the Aquarium, where a large number of Police motorbikes and officers were stationed during the early morning traffic commute.
Police spokesman Robin Simmons confirmed the exercise was part of the continuing traffic initiative by the Bermuda Police Service to improve safety on the roads.
