G Michael Reed: Police Press Officer
“They are Isuzu D Max double cab pick ups. They are going to be a part of the exiting fleet. They come just in time for the Christmas extra patrols. One goes to Orange Walk, one o San Ignacio and one to Dangriga while the other three are assigned to the patrol branch in Belize City. The vehicles where bought for the police department by the government o Belize and they are a part of a promise fleet of new vehicles to the police department. We expect to get nine more that should be coming within the next three months or so and then hopefully some more after. They are badly needed of course you know the police department has a fleet that is four years old with constant use and from shift to shift. The life of a police vehicle is expected to e around three years and this is going on four years and still many are going strong however some have gone down and we certainly needed new vehicles to replace these.”
The vehicles are values at fifty thousand dollars each.
