Default Loophole Allows Many Drivers To Beat Speeding Tickets

    Feb 5, 2004
    Denver CBS

DENVER (News 4) An investigation by News 4 has revealed that many speeders are being found not guilty in court cases because the police radar used the clock them is not legally certified.

The issue stems from the fact that more than half of the state's law enforcement agencies fail to have the accuracy of their radar devices checked annually, which is required by Colorado law.

In Holland the judge says you have no legal right to review the certificate that the measuring device was properly calibrated at least once a year.

We once found a photoradar that was "overdue". We made it public and police shredded the tickets....

    Default Calibration

I posted this for a client. CHP gave him a citation and he obtained the certification logs for the detector and tuning fork. Seems that the last time either of them were certified was when they were installed in the car, FIVE YEARS AGO!
