ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - As many as 60 accused speeders and red-light runners in Albuquerque had their traffic citations dismissed because of a computer crash.

The computer glitch saved each of them a possible fine of $100 or more.

City Administrative Hearing Officer Patrick Bingham says the glitch stemmed from a downed server that operates the cameras that photograph speeders and red-light runners.

Without the server up, the streaming video and photos that capture the traffic violation couldnt be accessed.

Bingham says without that crucial bit of evidence, hearings Friday couldnt proceed.

The cameras are triggered when motorists speed through an intersection or enter it after the light has turned red.
