3-19-07 - Wichita police are crediting a dummy on duty for a decrease in traffic citations. On Monday, Wichita officers looking for speeders on West Kellogg only wrote eight citations in one hour. Police say that's well below the average of 50 tickets an hour for the area.
Officers say using the patrol mannequin "Dolly" has raised public awareness of speeding and has a loose correlation with the reduction in speeders.
The dummy has been used as a decoy patrol car for the past two months in west Wichita.
