The comments that some folks have left about this paper's act of taking pictures and publishing speeding details are a funny read.

They are funny....

U.S. 1 in Rockledge
ROCKLEDGE— A steady afternoon shower, coupled with congestion and a funeral procession kept drivers close to the speed limit during FLORIDA TODAY’S Monday afternoon “Speed Patrol.”
Still, 15 drivers were “caught” driving faster than 65 mph, or at least 10 mph over the posted speed limit heading north on U.S. 1 near The Alamo Restaurant.
Among the findings between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.:
# Fifteen drivers were clocked at 10 mph faster than the speed limit.
# Only one of the 15 vehicles topped 70 mph on the slick pavement. The car was going 84 mph.
# A Brevard County ambulance was going 68 mph with lights and siren on.
# Half a manufactured home aboard a trailer was recorded at 47 mph.
The goal of the nonscientific experiment is to illustrate the problem of speeding in Brevard County, and the team will be out with its rented radar gun Tuesday morning at another location.
The “Speed Patrol” team was instructed on how to use radar by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, and police jurisdictions are being notified of locations.
Earlier today: Pineda Causeway
A white blur, heading mainland from the beach was the most egregious speeder clocked by FLORIDA TODAY radar Monday morning at 92 mph.
The FLORIDA TODAY “Speed Patrol” was about a quarter mile west of the 50 mph speed-limit sign on the Pineda Causeway from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Among Monday morning’s findings:
# Thirty-nine vehicles heading west were clocked at least 10 miles over the speed limit. However, FLORIDA TODAY couldn’t measure the speed when vehicles were traveling in clusters.
# Seven vehicles topped 70 mph, meaning drivers could have been fined $211.50 each by law enforcement.
# As the morning rush hour ended, drivers picked up the speed. Six of the seven vehicles over 70 mph came between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
# An osprey with a small catfish in its talons was clocked at 14 mph above the causeway.
The goal is to illustrate the problem of speeding in Brevard County, and the team will be out with its rented radar gun this afternoon at another location. “Speed Patrol” will continue through Friday.

WTF? LOL :P So this is just people with a radar gun, saying that the people need to slow down? Hmm..I wonder would there be a "speeding" problem if speed limits were raised How do they define speeding as, going faster than the speed limit, or going faster than conditions permit?# An osprey with a small catfish in its talons was clocked at 14 mph above the causeway.
