Default Oregon speed limit could change?

(04/07) Rep. Kim Thatcher, R-Keizer, has offered a bill that would increase the speed limit for passenger vehicles from 65 mph to 70 mph along rural stretches of interstates. Truck traffic would continue to be restricted to the current 55 mph speed limit.

70mph is at least decent for cars but 55mph for trucks is just plain "unsafe".

There are many two lane highways in Oregon that need attention regarding speed. They are 55 mph zones and they can be easily traveled on at 65 mph with no increase in risk. Nevada has many similar roads as Eastern Oregon and they allow cars to travel at 75. I sometimes feel that Oregon is purposely allowing this to catch speeders and gain a profit.
