ROCKFORD REGISTER STAR

OREGON — The Illinois State Police will conduct special patrols on several Ogle County highways this month specifically designed to deter speeders, according to a statement released this morning.

Troopers will survey Illinois 2, Illinois 38, Illinois 64, Illinois 72, Illinois 251 and Interstate 39 in Ogle County as part of the special patrol, dubbed Speed Patrols Enforcing and Educating Drivers.

In addition to speeding, officers will watch for drivers who don’t buckle up, and such dangerous tendencies as improper lane use and aggressive driving, according to the statement.

Police will conduct the special patrols in conjunction with their regular patrols.
