Police step up speed enforcement

Traffic enforcement officers will continue to be out in force in July to help Muskogee motorists keep an eye on their speed.

Under the program that was launched in May, patrol officers will set up along different areas each week.

The targeted areas, officials said, mostly will include high-volume traffic and high-frequency collision areas.

For the month of July, police will target four areas around Muskogee:

July 1-July 7: U.S. 69 between Peak Boulevard and Harris Road.

July 8-14: Okmulgee Avenue between P Street and the Muskogee Turnpike.

July 15-21: Okmulgee between P Street and Kershaw Drive.

July 22-28: York Street between Peak Boulevard and Harris Road.
