BUFFALO — Starting today Wright County deputies will be on the lookout for speeders.
The special enforcement will take place through Sunday. Deputies and officers will spend an additional 128 hours enforcing the speed limit.
In the past five years, speed was a direct factor in 15 deaths in Wright County, according to the sheriff's office.
Participating agencies are the sheriff's office and police departments from Annandale, Buffalo and Howard Lake. Sherburne County Sheriff's Department also will be working with Wright County to provide stepped-up enforcement.
The speed enforcement effort is a Safe & Sober campaign coordinated by the Department of Public Safety.
