YUCCA VALLEY — Traffic officers from Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms participated in a combined effort to cut down on motor vehicle accidents in the Morongo Basin Thursday morning, said Deputy Raymond Camacho.
The officers stopped 25 vehicles in Yucca Valley and issued 19 citations and warnings during the five-hour operation.
The citations were for a variety of vehicle code variations, but most were related to unsafe speed.
Camacho said unsafe speed is one of the most significant factors that lead to accidents, and more combined patrols are planned to combat the problem.
