SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
An increased number of police officers will take to the streets of San Francisco tonight and Saturday morning forcing drivers to respect the rules of the road.
California Highway Patrol, in partnership with the San Francisco Police Department, will conduct Operation Impact V, which will provide an added police presence in the Northern, Park and Richmond police districts.
The Northern Police District includes the Western Addition, Marina, Pacific Heights and Russian Hill neighborhoods and the Park Police District includes Castro, Haight, Cole Valley, Twin Peaks and other areas.
The operation, which rotates police districts throughout the year, is conducted to reduce traffic violations and collisions.
Police also believe that the additional police presence increases the safety of residents in the community.
The operation will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 3 a.m. Saturday.
