Radar warning devices seized
Attempts to evade speeding charges resulted in the seizure of seven radar warning devices by a Sault Ste. Marie Traffic and Marine officer, from motorists traveling on Highway 17 on the 14th of August.
The suspects were from all over, including some Algoma District residents.
The police have the ability to detect radar warning devices, which are prohibited in Ontario.
The fine for having a radar warning device is $170 and upon conviction the devices will be destroyed.
Some of the devices cost in excess of $600.
