"Right now our officers are out on the streets fighting crime and I would have a tough time justifying additional police officers for bike speed enforcement."
Read: Enforcing bike speeds does not bring in nearly the revenue of automobile speed enforcement.

can you imagine going to court to contest a speeding ticket on a bike?

i can see it, a flurry of patent filings for bicycle radar detectors and laser jammers.. powered off a 12v generator on your rear wheel..

what do you guys recommend? single or dual head setup?

OMG. The cyclists were averaging 17 mph

Time to call out the State police and really crack down on those wreckless driving a$$holes.

does he get sirens and lights with that?

if you're in a road bike.. just drop it down a gear or two and outrun him. most likely he'll be on foot

Actually, I think I have heard of that. But I think they just give them Public drunkenness.

When I was in the military stationed overseas I had a friend get pulled over on a bike for riding while intoxicated. He tried to out run them by cutting through a woods, but they used their radio and caught him on the other side.
