State Patrol steps up enforcement in Highway 41 construction zone

For The Reporter

The Wisconsin State Patrol is stepping up patrol in and near the construction zones on Highway 41 in Winnebago and Fond du Lac counties.

The enforcement effort will especially target drivers that are speeding, following too closely or driving aggressively, according to a State Patrol news release. Speeding, following too closely and aggressive driving by motorists have been the cause of several of the crashes that have occurred this summer in this construction zone, according to State Patrol.

The goal of additional enforcement efforts is prevention of crashes and an increased level of safety for construction workers and motorists traveling through construction zones, according to the State Patrol.

Motorists are urged to use extra caution while driving in and near construction zones and to wear their safety belts.
