Default Possible Repeal of Virginia Law Re RDs?

Read this from a link to a form on "Signal Sweepers"...

"...I talked with another member of the National Motorists Association recently and found out that they are trying to get a bill in Virginia passed (for the 2006 session) to get the radar detector law REPEALED! This would be an awesome move for the motorists of that state."

Anyone know how to get confirmation of this?

They have tried this every year since 1978 and it has not passed yet. Not sure what the reasons are on either side but I know it comes up each year.

I hope the bill doesn't pass. I think it's better if everything regarding radar detectors and the law should stay the same in VA.

A repeal of the illegal RD law in VA would be nice but unlikely. I am nervous driving through that state since it remains a possibility that they may get Spectre RDDs.

I also hope VA stays an illegal RD state. They are not going to get the spectre, and 90 percent of the staties use constant on KA. I would rather get a 45 dollar, yes 45$ ticket for a radar detector than have instant on KA bust me for 90 in a 65 and get recklace driving AND a speeding ticket AND a RD ticket! Let them keep their laws and use the constant on method.

I have picked up several state troopers in VA on the interstate using instant on Ka band. They were hiding in the median at night and were still pretty liberal their use of instant on which gave me plenty of warning.

Yeah if QC had the $90 detector fine and mail it back to you setup, I'd be loving it!
