Speeders, seat-belt violators target of patrol

State troopers will conduct special patrols next month to target speeders and drivers who fail to buckle up.
The patrols will start Nov. 1 in Winnebago County on Interstates 39 and 90 and U.S. 20. The patrols wrap up Dec. 2.
Troopers will look for speeding, seat-belt violations and other offenses as part of the enforcement. The traffic detail is also designed to raise public awareness of traffic laws, officials said in a statement.
Troopers also might set up seat-belt enforcement zones, in which they’ll check passengers and drivers to make sure they’re buckled up.
