Next week, Kendall County will be joining hundreds of law enforcement agencies in saturating the roads with officers looking for traffic violations.

Through a grant offered by the Illinois Department of Transportation Division of Traffic Safety, police will have extra officers on the road between Monday and March 23.

Officers will be looking for drunken driving, seat belt and no child restraint device violations, among other offenses. Police said each person stopped will be issued a ticket, with no exceptions.

Police said it has been shown that visible enforcement programs focusing on these violations can lower traffic deaths.
