rofl! bonus if you drive by fast enough that they can't catch the lic. double bonus if you give them the bird and they don't get your lic because they where to self consumed watching you to get the lic #.

they have a system like this here but the officer calls the number associated with the registration of the vehicle and asks politely to slow down. i got a call from someone on my street because I was going 20mph and that was to fast for a 15mph zone. what the officer didn't know is that it was my own private property that I was speeding on and in my book it is 100mph zone. lol the officer just hung up on me. lame. because of that I was thinking about making a 100mph speed limit sign and putting it up on the road but on my property just to piss the neighbors off.

its also illegal to let unlicensed people operate a police radar gun under FCC regulations. Unless they had guns that didn't require the licensing, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just overlooked this law.

Maybe they gave them handheld FCC Part 15 radar gun models which do not require an FCC license. MPH handheld Z series for example.

Uhh... so they can write downs just anyones license plate? Sounds fishy to me.

One time the neighbors got pissed that I was going 25 in a 30 on our street. Left a note on my car hahaha... As I was leaving, I peeled out

My experience with this is that most people have no clue how fast someone is going. They think people are speeding when in fact they are with in a few MPH of the PSL. I lived in a neighborhood where people complained that everyone was speeding so township put in a speed beacon for a week and they found that the average was 27 in 25 with the highest speed at about 35.

So all the self proclaim speed experts tried to argue that 25 was too fast and the PSL should be 15 MPH.

So if you get one of those letter you file a harassment claim against the citizens the town and the police. That is how you put an end to that.

Its bad enough we have police who are a bunch of control freaks, now your empowering a bunch of people who probably have no control over their own lives who will feel it is their mission in life to stop people from speeding.

That is so true! One podunk town just north of me just lowered the speed limit on most of it's streets to 20 MPH. Ridiculous!

Carmel, IN had a similar program loaning out the radar guns. But it didn't last long after several nasty neighborhood "altercations!"

I wonder what kind of radar guns they're loaning out.

If I ever got IOed by a resident (not a real LEO) I would make a face at them as I drive by at 1/2 the PSL. :P

OTOH, if I lived in a neighborhood where they did this, I would offer to use my Pro Laser II.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

i wouldn't worry about it. it isn't like they can do anything and it removes some of the free time off their hands so they stop complaining about how children in public schools are not forced to read the bible.
