FPD To Crack Down On Speeding, Noise Violations

FOREST—The Forest Police Department announced last week plans to tighten enforcement of speed limits and continue efforts to more strictly enforce the noise ordinance.

Police Chief Robert Roncali said a particular area of concern for speed monitoring will be Old Highway 80 at the city limits near Meadow Hill Drive where a problem had been reported.

In other matters, Roncali reported the following activities for the month of April:

Police responded to 452 calls and investigated 17 fights, 171 disturbances, 13 burglaries (no businesses), 54 alarm calls, 13 thefts, 40 accidents, 11 possible driving under influence, 11 public drunk, 15 stalled vehicle calls, 80 escorts, two fires, two suicide attempts, four discharging firearm calls, five shoplifting, 13 DUI arrests, one narcotics arrest, 25 domestic calls and 216 citations issued.
