Police will conduct three traffic enforcement operations this week, including a "zero tolerance" effort against speeders today.
The anti-speeding operation will run from 6 to 10 a.m. on Cirby Way near Riverside Avenue, said police spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther.
On Friday, police will conduct a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint at an undisclosed location, Gunther said. The operation will begin about 9 p.m. and conclude at 1 or 2 a.m. Saturday, she said.
On Saturday, officers will be on the lookout for street racers, Gunther said. The operation begins at 8 p.m. and will end about 2 a.m. Sunday. Police also will issue citations to drivers with a vehicle illegally modified for street racing, she said.
