Watsonville PD concentrate on aggressive driving

August 14, 2008

On Wednesday the Watsonville Police Department hosted BADGES, Before Aggressive Drivers Get Everybody Stopped.

Eleven traffic officers from different jurisdictions collected in Watsonville to concentrate on aggressive driving and safety related traffic violations.
Officers from Watsonville, California Highway Patrol, Capitola, Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley wrote 83 citations, towed 12 vehicles, made one warrant arrest and arrested one driver for driving on a suspended driver's license after convicted of DUI.

Several of the towed vehicles stemmed from unlicensed students driving to the first day of high school.

The BADGES program has been held in Santa Cruz County since 1999.

The California Highway Patrol will host BADGES in September.
