The Utica Police Department Tuesday will demonstrate the LIDAR speed hand-held unit that determines the speed of motor vehicles.
The hands-on demonstration takes place at 3:30 p.m. at the entrance of the Utica Zoo on the Memorial Parkway.
“This demonstration is for children’s safety by raising public awareness of speed limits as well as offering the public a hands-on experience,” said Daniel LaBella, Utica public safety commissioner.
Those wishing to participate and try out the speed device are asked to call 223.3443.
