The Florida Highway Patrol will be out on the roads in Gadsden County today, pulling over drivers who speed and checking for other violations.
Troopers will also be citing those who aren’t wearing seat belts or don’t have their children restrained properly.
The effort is part of multi-agency Operation HEAT, which was created to reduce traffic crashes in the county.
The Havana Police Department, Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, Chattahoochee Police Department, the Florida Department of Transportation and Gretna Police Department are participating.
They will be out on Interstate 10, as well as state roads 10, 12, 63, 65 and 267.
