$48,617 grant given to curb traffic violations

NEWARK -- The Licking County Sheriff's Office has been awarded $48,617 to increase law enforcement for certain traffic violations, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office.
The grant provides 100 percent reimbursement for stepped-up enforcement of laws governing safety belts, alcohol and speed limits, the release reads.
Those funds, from the Governor's Highway Safety Office, will be available from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2009.
