The Queensland Government says increased fines for traffic offences will fund an extra 106 police officers and more speed cameras.
Fines across the board will rise by 33 per cent including those for traffic infringements.
Police Minister Judy Spence says the increased revenue will fund new police motorcycles and improve black spots on the state's roads.
She has told Parliament police also plan to remove markings from speed camera vehicles, to make them harder to detect.
"All of these measures have been suggested to the Government by our Queensland police officers as things that we should do to help them reduce our road toll," she said.
