State Police Bulk Up Interstate Enforcement

Virginia State Police are launching another round of Operation Air, Land and Speed. This time the extra enforcement is on Interstates 64 and 66.
Troopers are looking for speeders, reckless drivers and people not wearing their seatbelts.
During a similar operation last year, state police wrote nearly 5,000 tickets mostly for speeding. The project started early Friday morning and ends Saturday night.

Thanks a lot Stlouis, seriously I wish you would post much more of these virginia threads. I rarely see any and stuff like this is very helpful. I also would like to thank you as you have put a lot of work and dedication into this forum and made it somewhat of what it is. Much apprecaited, you take it easy

Sounds like I should pack up the video camera and make a run through VA.

I-64 for the most part is just a boring drive once you get away from the Beach and Richmond. They should nab plenty there bored into complacency.

Yeah I-64 I drive usually how fast I want when I want. I honestly dont see much enformcment on the interstate for what it is. I mean out of all the times I've been their I rarely see cops. Catagory, you want to go test out your equipment, I mean really test it out! I have this stretch of road that I mean honestly is like a gold mine for cops. Their is at least 4 state troopers monitering this particular 20 mile stretch and 2 state troopers on the part I usually take. Either moving I/O 35.5 or Stationairy C/O or I/O. They are always getting people, the road you could go 70 on it and be perfectly safe, the traffic is moderate but very low, perfect for speeders. No stop lights, its literally an interstate. People from maryland and people going to maryland and back always get caught. I see it almost everyday. The road is so long that I havn't marked it on trapster because if I mark all the spots then on the map because the map would be covered. Their are median turn lanes every .5-1mile hills in between, I honestly in my life have not found a stretch of road this well set up for cops. The hills in between the medians shield the opposite moving I/O too so that makes it worse too. I actually had to call trapster and let them know about this road and was seeing if they could send out an alert to the users that this road is dangerous and don't speed on it but they didn't know what they could do. I mean any RD users ultimate test grounds without actually owning a gun.

If anybody ever want to challenge this road and is coming through VA let me know and I'll deffinatly take you for the test.

I-64 in Missouri is kind of the same way. You rarely see any leos out. When you do there's usually a special operation going on.
