Police Crack Down on Drivers

This time of year may mean a little slack in the everyday workplace. Not so the case with Springfield police, who spent part of this month focused on tracking down errant and impaired drivers.

The “You Drink and Drive, You Lose" campaign saw cops issuing 467 tickets, including 150 for speeding and more than 20 for drunk driving.

Driving while intoxicated remains one of the top causes of fatal car crashes in Missouri. Last year, more than 240 people died in alcohol-related wrecks
