MANITOWOC — The Manitowoc Police Department will crack down on speeders in the city of Manitowoc Feb. 14 and 15, according to a news release from the department.
According to the release:
Extra officers will be deployed on those two days to patrol for speeding, aggressive driving, seatbelt use and other traffic violations.
Funding for the extra officers comes from part of a $20,000 speed grant the department received from the state Bureau of Transportation Safety in November.
Nearly $5,000 of the money was used to purchase of a new speed trailer, which will be set up in various locations throughout the city once the snow melts.
