Traffic troopers issued 74,507 speeding tickets last year to drivers going more than 20 miles over the speed limit.
Hamilton County, with 4,797, and Sandusky County, 3,111, led with the most citations for aggressive speeders, followed by Franklin, 2,838, Erie, 2,593, and Lorain, 2,523, counties.
Troopers on the Ohio Turnpike cited 13,198 motorists, 18 percent of the State Highway Patrol.
"Driving at speeds of 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit is considered a dangerous form of aggressive driving," Col. Richard H. Collins said. "Drivers that engage in this type of perilous behavior are putting their life and others' lives at risk."

Of the traffic stops resulting in an aggressive speed citation, 709 involved the driver of a commercial vehicle; 850 included a drunken driving arrest; and 1,543 involved driving with a suspended license.
So far this year, troopers have issued 7,829 citations for aggressive speed.
