Four people attended a public hearing on the acceptance of the grants. Police Chief Brent Hautanen said the stimulus money could be used for new equipment or new programs that are not in the budget. Part of the money would be used to purchase six portable radios with a charger, and the remainder would go toward the purchase of a video camera system for the cruisers. "The (amount of) the grant is based on our crime reporting data," Hautanen said. Hautanen was authorized to accept the grants.
