HOUSTON - Enforcing the speed limit requires certain tools of the trade. But breaking those laws requires another arsenal entirely.
Most people slow down when they see a traffic cop, parked on the shoulder. But a Houston man named Erick speeds up and turns on his own video camera.
While Erick doesn't want you to know his last name, he doesn't mind showing you his car--a black GTO loaded with radar detectors.
“The only way to really test it is to, is to run over the speed limit and see if you get pulled over or not,” Erick said. “It's pretty anti-social behavior.”
But what happens when you combine anti-social behavior with social networking"?
After recording his "close encounters" on a mounted video camera, Erick posts them, on YouTube.
Houston Sgt. Teresa Curry doesn't think much of Erick's hobby, saying his videos don't prove anything.
“We'll find him another day, and I know we'll find him,” Curry said. “It's just a matter of when.”
However, Erick claims his equipment has saved him eight thousand dollars in speeding tickets, over the past seven years.
