The Washington County Sheriff’s Department has received a $15,000 grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Safety to crack down on speeders and a $20,000 grant to crack down on drunk drivers.
The funds may be used to pay for officers’ overtime and to purchase new equipment for improved enforcement. The funds are being shared with local police departments who will participate in the enforcement projects.
