DANBURY -- State police will work with local police to set up drunk driving checkpoints to prevent those who drink from driving this Memorial Day. Police warn drivers to be observant and obey all the rules of safety on the road. The police will be in unmarked vehicles to patrol the roads and will use laser units for speed enforcement.
The local police will join state police across the country in the National Combined Accident Reduction Effort (C.A.R.E.) program, enforcing DUI and safety belt laws during the entire holiday weekend.
