    Damn, I was hoping for a second it was going to say they switched over to priuses.

    me too! Easy to out run but spotting at night would be a royal pita.

    How does this change night patrol?

    Starting and stopping the car for every call seems like it'd have increased costs down the road with more subtle long term engine damage on already abused cars.

    I noticed UPS stops their trucks all the time, even for 15 seconds to carry a package to your door.

    Probably more related to some safety policy so some little kid doesn't hop in and drive away.

    I had always heard starting and stopping of your vehicle used more gas.
