A MOBILE camera will be used on Bournemouth seafront this summer in an attempt to get cyclists to slow down.
Following a series of complaints about dangerous cyclists, the council intends to use a camera to monitor speeds.
Officers will be down on the seafront on four dates this month to see how many cyclists currently break the 10mph speed limit.
Any caught flouting the rules will be provided with advice and information on the seafront rules.
Charmaine Andrews, service development officer for leisure services, said: "We have a duty to ensure the promenade is a safe environment for people to enjoy.
"We have had reports of people speeding on bikes along the seafront and what we don't want to see is a cyclist racing along the promenade accidentally knocking down a small child that gets in his or her way."

What, now you have to get a speedo (or RD) for your bike?

A 9500i can serve as both.

With all the news about speed enforcement of bikes, boats, and skiiers, there is a market for RDs optimized for these users. Cordless portable RDs for the bikers and skiiers, and waterproof ones for boats.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

This pisses me off. I don't get pissed easy but if you are getting pulled over while riding a bike I sure would start a scene. I am sick and tired of the BS enforcement when it comes down to messing with people. I am all good and fine with certain laws. But picking on bikes is out of hand!
