Robert Yaniz Jr. is planning to locate its first southeast regional office in Tampa.
The company, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., provides technology and business services for traffic safety and electronic toll collection programs.
The 5,000-square-foot Tampa facility will house pre-installation assembly, service and maintenance operations for red-light camera systems. Project management staff and technicians will be based at this location.
When the office opens in early July, about 10 to 14 employees will be based there, said Josh Weiss, director of communications and public affairs. ATS likely will be hiring shortly thereafter, though Weiss did not disclose how many or what types of positions the company would be looking to fill.
The Tampa office is intended to increase the company’s market share locally and will serve as base of operations for its Florida clients, said James Tuton, president and chief executive officer, in a release.
ATS implemented a traffic camera program in 1987. In 2005, the company introduced PlatePass, an automated electronic toll payment service that allows rental car customers to use electronic toll lanes.
American Traffic Solutions operates regional offices in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, St. Louis, Houston and Arlington, Texas. The company employs 450 people.
