Traffic Patrols Zero In On Impaired Drivers, Safety, Speeding
The Palatine Police Dept. is continuing with its efforts to keep drivers and passengers safe through aggressive traffic enforcement measures.
With the assistance of grant funding provided by the Illinois Dept. of Transportation (IDOT), police will participate in the July 4th Holiday Traffic Safety Campaign.
Starting this past June 19 through Monday, July 6, police will be hitting the streets with officers focusing on impaired drivers, occupant protection, and speeding. Those are found to be the greatest contributing factors in serious injury and fatal crashes on roadways, according to police.
Palatine police officers will be saturating the roadways, patrolling for those individuals who choose to drive impaired, drive recklessly, and fail to wear safety belts.
Enforcement will take place at varying times from early morning through late evening hours.
In addition, police will be conducting roadside safety checks on Thursday, July 2 in the areas of Algonquin and Roselle roads and Dundee and Rand roads. These will be in the late evening through early morning hours.
