Police get radar gun grant
The West Linn Tidings, Jun 25, 2009
The West Linn Police Department may soon have new radar guns and mobile radios to help trap drivers speeding through local neighborhoods, thanks to $17,277 in grant money from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Police will purchase the new equipment within 45 days of receiving the federal funds, Chief Terry Timeus wrote in a grant application.
He said traffic details will then be deployed immediately.
The money was allocated by the Department of Justice’s Justice Assistance Grant Program.
As part of the process for receiving it, the city has posted the police department’s grant application on its Web site.
The public can review it at JAG Grant Public Comment Forum | City of West Linn Oregon.
