Metro Atlanta police agencies will run concentrated patrols on I-285, I-85, I-75 and I-20 on Thursday. It’s part of Georgia’s “100 Days of Summer HEAT,” which stands for highway enforcement of aggressive traffic.
The crackdown includes traffic enforcement units from DeKalb, Gwinnett, Fulton, Henry, Cobb, Clayton and Fayette counties and the cities of Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Union City.
In addition to speeding, officers will be on the lookout for violations of the “Move Over Law,” which requires drviers to move over one lane, if possible, when an emergency vehicle is working on the side of the road.
