MADISON (WKOW) -- More Madison Police officers will be assigned to traffic enforcement this week, thanks to overtime grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The Alcohol, Speed, Pedestrian Safety and Bicycle enforcement grants are coordinated through the Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Safety.
On Tuesday, July 28, extra officers will enforce pedestrian right-of-way laws at Blair and East Main Streets. Then on Wednesday, additional officers will be assigned to enforce bicycle traffic violations in the Vilas Park area.
