There was little opposition in Baltimore County council to the plan for awarding a speed camera contract to a Texas company.
In fact, a motion by Council member Bryan McIntire to table it failed for a lack of a second, The Sun reported.
The no-bid proposal passed. Baltimore County will piggyback on Montgomery County's already bid contract for the 15 cameras to be set up in school zones soon after the first of the year.
The cost is 180-thousand dollars a month.
Officials said they will put the contract out for bid later when they gather more data on the system.
