Police to run traffic enforcement
 blitz along Route 31 today

The Illinois State Police, District 2, Special Enforcement Teams, along with local and county law enforcement agencies, will conduct a traffic enforcement blitz along Route 31 in McHenry and Kane counties today.

The blitz will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The effort will focus on enforcement of five potentially fatal traffic violations to reduce crashes and fatalities.

They are driving under the influence, speeding, seat belt and child restraint violations, improper lane use, and following too closely.

Illinois State Police Special Enforcement Teams also will deploy seat-belt enforcement signs at several locations along Route 31, according to an Illinois State Police news release.

Participating agencies in the blitz will be the Illinois State Police, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department, the Kane County Sheriff’s Department, and several municipal police departments along Route 31.
