NESHANNOCK, Pa. ó The Neshannock Police Department will be conducting extra patrols on township roads through Nov. 30.
The patrols will focus on aggressive driving such as speeding, careless driving and stop-sign and red-light violations.
Other details will include seat-belt enforcement. This is part of the Buckle Up Pa. and Click It or Ticket campaign. Officers will be observing traffic anywhere in the township. If a violator is stopped and is observed not wearing a seat belt, then a second ticket will be issued.
In addition to the other patrols, during the coming week, the police department will be conducting a regulatory safety checkpoint someplace in the community.
The checkpoint will focus on driverís-license violations, vehicle-equipment violations and any other violations the officers observe.
The overall mission and goal of these details is to provide and ensure that the roads in Neshannock are safe and that the citizens have a safe holiday, according to a department press release. This is part of the Pa. Safe Roadways and Aggressive Driving Grants the department received.
