State Police sobriety checkpoint

The Massachusetts State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on a secondary state highway in Essex County, Saturday, Dec. 12, into Sunday, Dec. 13. The purpose is to further educate drivers and strengthen the publicís awareness to the need of detecting and removing drivers who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways.
The police will conduct the checkpoint during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured and any inconveniences to drivers will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety.
