FRUITLAND NEWS: Speed cameras on the way

Daily Times Staff Report December 16, 2009

FRUITLAND -- The city hopes to have two new speed cameras up and running within the next 30 days, according to the police chief.

The police department turned to speed cameras after receiving a number of complaints about speeders near the West Main Street and Camden Avenue area and roadways near Fruitland Intermediate School, said Fruitland Police Chief Mike Phillips.
One stationary camera will be installed near the school. The second camera is a mobile unit.
