Default Does Anyone Really Believe Toyota?

When I first herd about the sudden acceleration that Toyota said it was taking care of the problem with the floor matt's and then with the pedal readjustment I did not believe the Corporation. Now after watching the 2 testify Today I really don't believe them. I think they know what the problem is or have a good idea and are just not being honest. If you are going to buy from this auto maker I suggest you wait, they are going to get a lot cheaper in a economy that was tanking with out there

The unfortunate thing is there may be an innocent man in prison because of all this. In 2006 a man was convicted of vehicular homicide for hitting someone in his Toyota doing 90 mph, and he claiming it court it was accelerating without his input. He's been in prison since 2006. I don't know all the details, hence the reason I say "may be".

I had never herd that story before. That is truly not a good ending. With a bunch of luck it would be nice to see an appeal go his way for another day in court. Man that sucks..

Do I believe Toyota? No, h*ll no.

All along the experts have been saying it's in the computer system, and I have to believe them on this one. I've driven vehicles over the years that had a throttle stick, you know it was the throttle, not the car doing it. You know when the throttle pedal does not come back up, not hard to figure out.

I think all the major networks have mentioned it just recently, but not with a lot of attention.

Toyoda is lying through their teeth IMO from what i've seen so far.
The woman who testified early in the hearings claimed that when her car's runaway-acceleration occured, the cruise control light came on. That smacks of an electrical or computer problem.
I know how these big corporate CEO exec's think first hand. Its money, greed and get the stock price up at any cost, nevermind the cost of their innocent customer's lives in this particular case.
I have personally witnessed defective products released to the public by decree of CEOs with the intent of 'maybe' fixing it in the field later....against the strong recommendations of their engineers.

His Toyota is a 96 model, which isn't involved in this recall. But who knows.

I don't know Toyotas, but I'd be surprised if they had electronic throttles then?

She also claimed that she put both feet firmly on the brake pedal. She's either lying or the malfunction is also, somehow, preventing application of the brakes at the same time. The only thing I can think of that would be able to cause that is the ABS system? I know the pedal firms up considerably when it's working and you'd break the pedal before it would let you push it any further...

first off, the brakes will not stop an engine racing at full throttle.
