I don't do this often but in the officers defense, "unable to get a laser speed reading on Fitzgerald's sport bike because it was too small" surly can't be the reason he could not get a reading with his laser gun. I have got readings on motorcycles of all kinds.

What I don't agree with is and Officer's word when it comes to speeding tickets. There should be more evidence then the "word". We all make mistakes and believe it or not some cops are not honest.
As far as the court I know a crap load of department that don't keep there vehicles up to code or serviced. It is very hard for large departments to do this since they run there vehicles 24hours a day and they can't buy new cars because they do not have the money.

I agree they really should have some kind of evidence. my suggestion would be to have a print out from the radar/lidar gun along with a time stamped video.

Tickets have become big business they also attach points and license suspensions and in some states *cough* VA jail time. if they are going to impose these harsh punishments I want more then an LEO's "word" that I was speeding.

but traffic court is not about justice its about revenue so we are stuck with the way the tax collectors and kangaroo courts operate.
