Three new speed cameras are now in place on the A7 motorway in Málaga province.
They are in La Cala de Mijas, near the venta La Butibamba on the Cádiz-bound section of the road; near Fuengirola on the Málaga-bound section; and, also Málaga-bound, between Benahavís and Estepona.
These latest three bring the number of speed cameras installed in Málaga province up to five. The other two are on the A45, at the Ciudad Jardín exit from Las Pedrizas; and on the Ronda Este, next to the Cerrado de Calderón tunnel.
‘Their only objective is to stop excessive speed injuring or killing people,’ said José Vico, head of the provincial traffic department.
Another thirty eight new speed cameras came into operation across the country on Thursday, to coincide with the traffic department’s special Christmas operation, when seventeen million cars are expected to be on the roads for the holidays until 9th January.
