Heard this one on the radio on the way to work. They will be focusing on people who talk on their cellphones. (CHP and allied agencies)

More like zero thought cellphone enforcement.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

More asinine news out of Cali, not surprising in the least. I am curious though, are cops exempt from this law like they seemingly are from traffic/speed laws? I would imagine they crafted an exemption for themselves like they have for window tint among other things.
"Good for them!"
I've even had cops on cell phones (because they can, lawfully, at least in CA as they did get an exemption in the law) make left hand turns in front of me yabbering away and blowing through a red light while doing it.
Personally, I'd throw them all in jail faster than a drunk as their mindless activity has the potential to "Not be a victimless crime" more so than the silly seat belt law which is a "Victimless (albeit Darwinism) crime" imho. Some drunks I can deal with (i.e. ones who drive slow and wander). Cell phoners don't even realize what they are doing. Had to honk at one last week for sitting through two red lights to "Move it" while he was blabbering away. Multitasking isn't roadworthy. Jeeze. Shut the F up, pay attention, and drive!

The operation's first day is a success. 350 citations were written by CHP alone, with more citations written by allied agencies.
I believe the next phase of this operation is Wednesday, 8/18.
